Community Initiatives : How you can build joy backing local causes in your local community
Bridging the Gap and Expanding Horizons with Marlow
With the closing of the bridge in Bisham, a vital part of the towpath to Marlow, Karl, our founder took it upon himself to help lead the work and re-opening. Setting up a community facebook group, charing meetings with the council and even running a Marlow- Bisham Marathon, back and forth between the two bridges to help raise more awareness. As a regular runner, he feels this is highly detrimental to the community as it brings so much joy and connection…he did of course design and print customised t-shirts…!
In our unyielding commitment to fostering unity and enhancing the local community, we have embarked on a transformative initiative in collaboration with the Environmental Agency (EA) and local Councils to rebuild and reopen the Thames Path bridge. This vital connection spans the length of the Thames Path, allowing walkers, cyclists, and runners to fully immerse themselves in the abundant beauty of the tow path.
At the heart of this endeavor lies our profound desire to bridge the gap that obstructs smooth accessibility and hampers the full experience of this stunning locale. By working closely with the EA and the local Councils, we have strived diligently to restore the Thames Path bridge to its former glory, thus reinstating a pivotal link that serves as the lifeblood of our community.
In addition to the monumental task of rebuilding the Thames Path bridge, we have built a vibrant and engaging Facebook community. With an ever-growing follower count of over 1500 dedicated members, this online platform serves as a dynamic forum for individuals to connect, share their love for the towpath, and exchange thoughts and ideas on the revitalization efforts.
The Marlow Facebook community has become an essential catalyst for spreading awareness, rallying support, and galvanizing people from all walks of life. Each follower is not merely a number but a valuable contributor, lending their voice to the cause and demonstrating their unwavering support.
By rebuilding and reopening the Thames Path bridge, we are creating possibilities for individuals to engage with nature, embrace an active lifestyle, and forge deep connections within the local community. This transformative project, fueled by the indomitable spirit of Marlow and embraced by our passionate Facebook community, showcases the power of unity and collective action in creating a brighter and more inclusive future for all.
